Chalet Alpage is a 4 bedroom duplex apartment available for rental in Grimentz, Switzerland. Grimentz (and the connected ski resort of Zinal) is a charming resort in the Val d'Anniviers area, part of the Valais region in Switzerland. Back in January 2014 the two separate resorts of Grimentz and Zinal were linked by cable car which at 3 kilometres in length is one of the longest in Switzerland. Staying at our chalet allows you to choose which resort to ski each day - or even whether to ski both in one day.

The duplex occupies 2 floors in the Piste Rouge building. This gives it an ideal location, approximately 75 metres from the Bendolla cable car station. In the morning it is literally a couple of minutes walk to the cable car station, an absolute joy when skiing with children. At the end of the day it is usually possible to ski to within a few metres of the building. We also have a ski locker available at the base of the lift for those wanting to leave skis or boots at the lift station. In terms of accommodation available to rent in Grimentz, your location is closer to the lift than almost all of the chalets available on the rental market - some are a considerable distance by car or bus to the parking area which is below and at some distance from the lift.

Considerable investment has occurred in this ski area in the last few years and new for 2023/2024 is the Espace Weisshorn restaurant located at an altitude of 2700 metres and offering a refined dining experience with incredible views.

Grimentz, or Grimentz-Zinal as it is now also known, is a traditional Swiss resort largely undiscovered by large tour operators, although recognised by the Swiss as one of the prettiest villages in the Valais region. We chose to buy here after literally 40 years skiing in resorts all over Europe.

Peter Hardy in the 'Where to Ski and Snowboard Guide' said this about Grimentz: "Europe's best-kept secret: five charming unspoiled villages beneath high, snow-sure slopes with spectacular scenery ... It is incredible that the ski resorts in this valley can have remained so amazingly unspoiled when they are so close to big-name resorts such as Verbier, Crans-Montana and Zermatt. The villages all have lots of old wooden houses and barns, narrow paths and lanes and few shops except ski shops and those catering for locals' needs."
